Participants:  Mark Vs. Derik

Gear: ultra light to medium ice rods with 4-6 pound mono

Objective: Catch the largest perch through the ice using any tactic

Special Rules: none

I picked up Mark and we left the city around 11am in the pouring rain. The plan was to get an early start but the sound of beating drops had kept us in bed.  We decided to give it a try and worst comes to worst we could stop and peruse the spring deals at Bass Pro.  We drove North for about an hour, the rain stopped about 45 minutes into the drive. Dark clouds hung to the South and West of us as we prepared our gear and walked to the ice edge.  Its late season, the ice is weakening and a careful path is chosen near the shore to prevent getting wet.  Under ominous skies we venture out onto the ice: the first battle waiting to unfold . . . .
